Miguel Covarrubias was born on November 22, 1904 in Mexico City. He was a great painter, cartoonist, illustrator, writer, anthropologist, archaeologist, museographer, collector, stage and costume designer, and dance director. It was what can be called a humanist, sincere and passionately dedicated to the study of culture, not only of Mexico, but also of other latitudes, such as: United States, Central and South America, China, Bali, and North Africa.
