KARLA MONSIVAIS

Originally from Mexico City. Study Industrial Design at UNAM and made a stay in Paris. She specialized in jewelry design and high temperature ceramics. Her work is inspired by the geometry of natural elements, applying them to utilitarian objects. The battleship series is inspired by animals with the ability to withstand adversity. An invitation to reflect on our capacity for resilience as a species, as a society or culture. The animals that make up the series are animals from the region and have been the protagonists of many legends but also victims of human exploitation. How much can we relate to the oppressed and the oppressor?
