Chucho Reyes was a Mexican painter, collector and antiquarian who lived in the cities of Guadalajara and Mexico City. One of the outstanding and original artistic personalities of the twentieth-century in Mexican Art, he is considered an example of aesthetics set beside othergreat artists like Mathias Goeritz, Juan Soriano, Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall, who called him “the Mexican Chagall”. In his work are incorporated a contemporary view, icons and materials of the Mexican popular culture, especially the role of tissue paper.
